Individuals ages 15 - 36 who reside in one of the following jurisdictions: Chesapeake, Hampton, Isle of Wight Co., James City Co., Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg. College students at any of the universities in the above jurisdictions are eligible to join, too.

Ineligible to join, but still want to support? Your donation will give YDs in Hampton Roads the opportunity to engage in a variety of political events.

HRYD dues are $10 annually. You can pay via cash, check or online via ActBlue (click ‘Support HRYD’ on our home page).

We’re a chartered chapter of Virginia Young Democrats. You’ll have access to their annual Convention, plus a variety of volunteering opportunities with local, state and federal officials and candidates. Plus, you’ll get to join us for membership nights, cookouts and more!

Meetings are typically held the first Sunday of every month at 6pm EST. While you’re not required to attend each meeting, we highly encourage it! We have a variety of special guests attend to network and speak. We also try to host them at fun, interactive spaces so you can get to know your fellow YDs in a positive environment!
