Who is eligible for HRYD?
Individuals ages 13 - 35 who reside in one of the following jurisdictions: Chesapeake, Hampton, Isle of Wight, James City, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Williamsburg. College students at any of the universities in the above jurisdictions are eligible to join.
Ineligible to join, but still want to support? Your donation will give YDs in Hampton Roads the opportunity to engage in a variety of political events.

What types of opportunities will I get with membership?
We’re a chartered chapter of Virginia Young Democrats. You’ll have access to their annual convention and a variety of volunteering opportunities with local, state, and federal officials and candidates. Plus, you’ll get to join us for membership nights, cookouts, and more!

How do I become a member?
HRYD membership is easy! Visit our membership page to fill out our form and complete the steps to become a member.

How often are meetings? Am I required to attend each one?
Meetings are typically held the first Sunday of every month at 6pm EST. While you’re not required to attend each meeting, we highly encourage it! We have a variety of special guests attend to network and speak. We also try to host them at fun, interactive spaces so you can get to know your fellow YDs in a positive environment!

How much are dues?
HRYD dues are $10 annually. You can pay via cash, check, or online via ActBlue.
